Description: Our Scouts will head out on a fun but challenging adventure. They’ll be hiking while carrying all their camping essentials. That is where lightly packing, meal planning, and navigation skills come into play. Scouts will learn about packing lightly and how to properly pack in order to have an easier time walking. During backpacking campouts, meals are a bit different, so the scout will learn about backpacking meals and how to cook them properly. Lastly, navigation is an essential part of hiking/backpacking, so scouts will depend on their map/compass to find their way around. This is a very good campout for scouts because they’ll get the experience of how to pack and be prepared for hiking campouts like these.
