Description:
The Survivorman Challenge is a weekend adventure where scouts test their wilderness survival skills in a realistic scenario. The scouts are divided into three levels based on their experience and skills, and each level faces different challenges and tasks. The scouts must find or purify water, build shelter, start a fire, signal for help, apply first aid, and navigate using natural or essential tools. The campout is designed to teach scouts how to cope with unexpected situations, use their scout basic essentials, and follow the seven priorities of survival. The adults provide support and guidance from a base camp, but let the scouts take charge of their own survival.
This outing is open to everyone and costs $35.00 for scouts and $16 for adults.

Description
Do you have what it takes to challenge yourself on a ropes and zipline course at Verdun? Join us for a thrilling and rewarding outing where you will test your physical and mental skills, overcome your fears, and have fun with your fellow scouts.
We will depart on Friday evening at 6 PM from Rosa Lee Carter and drive to Verdun Adventure Bound, a non-profit organization that offers outdoor education programs. We will participate in their COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) course, which consists of low and high elements that require teamwork, communication, problem-solving, trust, and leadership.
We will start with some warm-up activities and safety instructions. Then we will move on to the low elements, such as balance beams, spider webs, trust falls, and group challenges. These elements are close to the ground and help us develop our group dynamics and confidence.
Next, we will tackle the high elements, such as climbing walls, cargo nets, swings, platforms, bridges, and ziplines. These elements are suspended above the ground and require harnesses and helmets. They challenge us to face our fears of heights and speed while having fun.
We will end our outing with a debriefing session where we will reflect on our experience and share our feedback. We will also receive certificates of completion from Verdun Adventure Bound.
This outing is open to all scouts and the cost is $95.50 per scout which includes COPE course fee. $22 for Adult leaders (No ropes course).
